A Letter From Mike Larkin, SWA President:

The SWA Annual Convention is only a few months away!  We’re continuing an 82 year old tradition of providing our industry the opportunity to come together to learn from and network with our peers.

We are in midst of one of the most trying and difficult markets any of us have experienced.  However, having spent my life in this industry and as a veteran of past recessions, I know the market will improve. 

Thus our theme this year “Survival of the Fittest…Is your company fit for recovery?” is particularly pertinent.  While surviving the market downturn has been difficult, being prepared to make the most of a recovering market is essential to your future success.

We have an exciting and dynamic agenda this year that incorporates the format changes from last year plus some new additions. Our keynote speaker, Ron Jaworski, will speak to us about being what it takes to be “Fit For Recovery.”

We will have a session on Leadership by Hooper Hardison and the popular “Best Practices” sessions from last year will focus on Finance, Operations Management and Sales Management.  These sessions offer a chance to learn from each other.  We are all in this together.  This format provides a wealth of knowledge one wholesaler, manufacturer or rep can grasp alone.

Lastly I want to reiterate that networking is the largest benefit we all receive from this event!  We are all a product of our experiences.  Your experience is different from anyone else’s and vice  versa.  By tapping into the collective experiences of the fellow SWA members, we can, and no doubt will help improve our industry.
